This is Jay. He is in the cube across the way from me. He is in charge a new, cool project, and silencers. Shane and I were showing him one of the match rifles our rifle team shoots with. There is lead in the back stock and forearm to make it heavier/steadier. I sent it to quantico an hour later.

not always traveling

Not a whole lot of traveling going on until the new year, unless I go to Eden during lunch to get to the bank... So welcome to the cube.

Here are some pics from the recent trip.

This is a squirrel ad at the local tire shop.

This is a rice field in Arkansas where I was this week. I toured the ammo plant with Shane and learned about how all ammo is made. It is in Lonoke Arkansas. We duck hunted 2 mornings in a row and flew back friday afternoon. the cloud in the distance is all snow geese. We shot 28 mallards both days. It was awesome.

This is my hotel room floor. The giant case are our shotguns for the week.

This is the gate to Little Rock. Getting there was tough, we kept getting delays due to wind.

This is a fireplace at dan river deli in madison near our offices. It reminds me of the fireplace we had in our house in at Tech. The deli is very good.

This is a picture of all duck on Doc's land back in the 60s. We hunted with Doc on his land, he is an ex cardiologist in little rock and a once famed trap shooter. Harlan Campbell, one of our sponsored guys, hunted with us, along with some other remington dudes like Kris Carson, Bill Crutchfield, and Bronson Hackleberry.

Mallard Drakes and Hens.

intro rambles

Hey heres a little about whats goin on. I kinda like blogging for a few reasons but I thought this would be a good idea. I was hired last week (mid november) as the 'Shooting Sports Specialist' at Remington Arms (part of Freedom Group Inc.) here in NC. The office is in Madison NC and I live in Greensboro with my old friend and now roommate Brandon Smits. I am workin with Shane Naylor, my old boss at the shooting range. He is teaching me alot of stuff so that I can take the reigns on some stuff and we can be more productive. We are also going to be traveling together alot and im gonna try to document with a lot of pictures from my blackberry. The purpose of this blog is to take a bunch of pictures from my travels and post them on here for my friends who want to see all that stuff. Ive been at Remington for 2 days and we are already scheduled to tour the ammo plant, duck hunt in Arkansas in early december and wine and dine in vegas mid january. A lot of work goes along with this but its still pretty freakin cool that I get to do all of this stuff and see our kickass country while working for the largest gun company in the world. I also get to be a small part of the IPO process and pick the brains of our CEO and CFO that are in our office while all this is going on. This opportunity is huge and hopefully I will get some good stuff on here. The picture above is where all travels should begin and end. Blacksburg, Virginia. The VT farms to be exact.
